Blaziken Me (Day One)

The climate of the world has taken a very serious turn.  Every volcano on the planet had erupted at exactly the same time, due to massive earthquakes that were caused in several nearby hotspots.  Lava had poured out of all of them like no man's buisness, covering at least half of the Planet Earth's surface.  The air conditions were badly affected too.  The extreme heat meant that going outside would have been fatal for most people, as the air was so hot that people's skin could melt right off their bodies.

At the time that this was happening, I was living by myself in a block of flats in London.  My name is Christian England, and I'm 24 years of age.  I was wearing a black sleeveless t-shirt, a blue plaid overshirt, blue trousers, white socks, and grey trainers.  I looked out of the window of my flat, and down at the dense city skyscrapers beneath me.  Many of the major roads had been covered by the thick molten lava, making going out impossible.  It was terrible, I was all dressed up and had nowhere to go.  I daren't open my window, as the air was too dangerous, and I didn't want to develop skin burns.  My air conditioner was on full blast, which was able to keep me somewhat cool regardless of the disasterous climate.

There was clearly nothing that I could do outside, so I decided that all I could do was to sit on my bed and watch TV.  I decided to look at the news channel, to see what the people were saying about the current climate.

"Every volcano in the world seems to have erupted at exactly the same time, and much of the surface of the planet has been covered in a molten lava that they have left behind.  Meteorologists and health officials have told people not to go outside, as the air conditions have risen dramatically and will cause severe health hazards, or even fatalities.  Even as we speak, survivors of this disaster around the world are being evauated by the police, and sent to a special safe place where the lava has not touched.  Special scientists there hope that those who make it in one piece, will be able to work together to find out the cause of this disaster. I turned the TV off, and put the remote down beside me.

"Survivors being evacuated and taken to a safe place.  I should jolly well hope that people come and take me there before long."

With nothing else to do, I picked up my copy of The Book Of Mormon from my bedside table and began to read through it.
